At Midland Prairie, we believe that every story deserves to be heard. Whether you're a debut author or an experienced writer, we welcome your manuscript and are excited to explore the possibilities of bringing your work to readers.

What We Accept

• Genres: We are open to a wide range of genres, including literary fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, poetry, and narrative-driven works.
• Manuscript Status: We accept both completed manuscripts and well-developed proposals.
• Representation: We welcome both agented and unagented submissions. If you're seeking representation, we recommend consulting resources like Literary Market Place to find a suitable agent.

Submission Materials

Please submit the following documents:

• Query Letter: A one-page letter introducing yourself and your manuscript. Include the genre, target audience, and a brief synopsis.
• Author Bio: A concise biography highlighting your writing background, publications, and any relevant credentials.
• Manuscript or Proposal:
  • Fiction: The first three chapters or 50 pages of your manuscript.
  • Nonfiction: A detailed proposal including a chapter outline, sample chapters, and a market analysis.
  • Optional: Links to your author website or social media profiles, if applicable.

  
  

  How to Submit

  Send your submission via email to submissions@midlandprairie.com. Please attach your documents as Word or PDF files. We aim to acknowledge receipt of all submissions within two weeks.

  
  

  Response Time

  Our editorial team reviews submissions on a rolling basis. Due to the volume of submissions, please allow up to 12 weeks for a response. If we find that your work aligns with our publishing goals, we'll reach out to discuss the next steps.
